This month we want to use a thought experiment offered by the folks at Thinking is Power to help you and your students explore something you/they believe in.

Step 1: Think of a belief that you hold to be true. It can be any belief at all. Maybe you believe psychic mediums can talk to the dead, that gif is pronounced with a hard G, or that the Patriots are the best football team. (It might be easier to start with a less important belief to you, but it’s your choice).

Step 2: Use the following image full of questions to evaluate your belief.

Thinking is Power: Is what you believe true?

Step 3: Reflect on your confidence in that belief. Has it changed? Why or why not? What has taking it through this line of questioning done for your belief?
