This month we want to use a thought experiment offered by the folks at Thinking is Power to help you and your students explore something you/they believe in.
Step 1: Think of a belief that you hold to be true. It can be any belief at all. Maybe you believe psychic mediums can talk to the dead, that gif is pronounced with a hard G, or that the Patriots are the best football team. (It might be easier to start with a less important belief to you, but itβs your choice).
Step 2: Use the following image full of questions to evaluate your belief.
Step 3: Reflect on your confidence in that belief. Has it changed? Why or why not? What has taking it through this line of questioning done for your belief?
Our beliefs impact our actions and decisions, yet we often donβt think to question why we believe. More often than not, we simply β¦ read more.
