Join the BACK TO SCHOOL EDITION full of ‘active learning’ exercises throughout this months edition to give back to the community and learn some things along the way.

Traditionally, August signifies a return to school.

We think it’s fitting that this edition of ‘From The Mixed Up Files of Dr. Ken Bort Ph.D.’ be a ‘Back to School’ edition. However, like Dr. Bort, files are not always what they seem to be, so will this edition be… 

Since this newsletter's inception, it has been primarily a passive resource. Dr. Bort goes through the deluge and curates the best mixed-up files so the community can use the resources and strategies to their heart's delight. He hasn’t asked much of you. BTW - We hope you’ve enjoyed them. 🏆

In this “Back to School’ edition, we will take a quote from the University of Rhode Island Journal of Media Literacy Education about Developing Digital Detectives …

“In our ever-changing and sometimes volatile digital world, it is important for educators to engage in media and information literacy education.”

… and make this August edition an ‘active learning’ exercise to entice you to engage in the process. 

‘Back to School’ Edition Prompt Guidance

Let’s take a Junkipedia approach to “problematic content” and centralize all of our submissions from each section of the August newsletter prompts in one of two spaces:

1. Twitter by using the hashtag #DigitalDetectiveSquad, or

2. The ‘From The Mixed Up Files of Dr. Ken Bort Ph.D.’ Back To School Edition Padlet for the #DigitalDetectiveSquad.
