We were inspired by this Twitter thread from @JeremyLittau, which featured a lesson he uses with his college students related to word choice and information literacy. He gave others permission to use and build upon his idea in his thread, so that’s exactly what we did! This version, created for upper MS and HS learners, challenges Digital Detectives to consider how word choices made by journalists (and other content creators) may trigger the kinds of emotions that cause mis-, dis-, and mal information to go viral.
